How do we go about having a small home away from home, an adventure base, a guest cabin, a quiet retreat space, an artist's workshop, make it comfortable and not lacking for modern conveniences, easy to transport, independent of municipal services, make it blend with nature and have a tiny environmental footprint?

After much searching, researching, dreaming and designing we came up with what we think is the perfect answer to our initial question.

Our design was inspired by the bentō — traditional Japanese lunch box. A Japanese bentō box is a convenient container for food that uses various, interchangeable dividers to help you create a combo of dishes that are perfect for the way you eat.

Our Bentō Dwell is a convenient container for human activities, one that creates spaces that are perfect for the way you live, work and play.
